Renown graphic artist Jim Phillips is presenting his first-ever solo show of new artworks. The artist, who is 81 and a lifelong Santa Cruz resident will unveil 15 new large scale art prints in addition to 30 hand-dipped pen and ink drawings produced from 1971 until 2026.
Jim’s surf and skate-themed artworks are a global phenomenon, with millions of fans drawn to graphics like the Santa Cruz red dot and the Screaming Hand, which were created in 1985. Jim’s trademarked artworks sold in 85 countries through his licensing agreements with NHS Inc. Jim’s legacy has seen the prolific artist creating famous surf and skate graphics, advertising, rock posters and drawings and paintings coveted by collectors globally.
Jim’s solo work has been shown in numerous galleries worldwide and through NHS Inc, Jim’s artwork has seen successful collaborations with the Simpsons, SpongeBob SquarePants, Star Wars and Marvel Comics. Jim has done rock posters for the Doors, Cream, James Brown, Moby Grape and Neil Young. Jim’s artworks hangs in private collections around the globe.
