Judy Foreman’s Memorial Retrospective
Musical events with other strange and wonderful happenings with the St. Cecilia Society, dada music, song, poetry and other events will take place at a closing party on Saturday October 29 from 2 – 5 pm. This is a change in date from October 22 due to scheduling conflicts.
Five decades of Judy’s paintings, drawings, collages, wheely metal sculptures,
enamels, graphics, outlaw & social art often reveal her biting wit and gentle sly humor.
Judy & husband Frank created a curious aesthetic together, steeped in medieval beauty with a Dada spirit, informed by Wabi-sabi values, influence by travels & artist friends & the masters. Living in North Beach in the Sixties added a twist. Artist friends & Frank have contributed an odd collection of works creating a playful & provocative exhibition in the Dada spirit.
Participating artists include Mel Henderson, Futzie Nutzle, Donald Day, Dennis Hearne, Beili Liu, Anna Martin, Mauro Di Nicci, Leigh Hyams, Victor Schiffrin, Jim MacKenzie Kate Rannells, Tom Maderos, AnaMaria Heigl and many others from Europe and Northern California.
Judy’s Cabinet of Dada Curiosities & More joins with ” Simple Life Instructions: Dada@the Radius” at the Radius Gallery in the Tannery Arts Center and George Hitchcock at the Felix Kulpa Gallery to observe absurdly the centenniel of Dada.
