Robert Blitzer paintings and sculpture

Unity I -recently completed commission.

Wings of Recognition-recently completed direct weld bronze and steel sculpture inspired by Gustav Vigeland and his sculpture park in Oslo, Norway.  It features bronze figures working together and holding each other up. It is complemented by the background paintings representing wings.

Robert’s metal work is direct welded brass, copper, steel and found metals.  Most of the works feature natural stones, crystals and semi-precious stones, reflecting the artist’s love of natural and refractive materials.  Figurative forms are mostly dramatic in posture, expressing movement.  Robert’s Mask-like 3-D and wall sculpture faces seemingly reach back to a mystic era, when history was born.

Robert’s paintings reflect that the universe is made of tiny particles that unify to form everything in the cosmos, working together in a constant state of movement.  They capture a moment in time where particles unite to form a beautiful pattern that sometimes is gone in a moment.
